About
Check out my Etsy shop on the link below….
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria to an actor father and a translator/interpreter mother who worked for WHO; and was also a seamstress. She taught me to sew when I was about 5 years old. Later when I was 15 years old, on holiday in Pretoria; I became really interested in becoming a fashion designer and began sketching dresses and learning to draw…. But alas it wasn’t my time yet…
Many years later, while living in Barcelona, Spain I felt the urge and need to express myself and my pride of being a Nigerian and African woman; so I set about sewing cushions covers in my home ‘studio’ using my mum’s old sewing machine, which she brought over to me from Bristol, England on a long train journey through Europe!
Mo Sama uses African print 100% cotton fabrics to make all products, which are made personally in my home studio. You can choose from headwraps, headbands, necklaces, cushion covers and table runners, canvas frames, coasters, flower pots, keychains and earrings.
If you are in my physical location or Southern California, you can also contact me for your one-of-a-kind custom skirt shopping experience with some of your girlfriends in my studio! I have Afrobeats music playing and a bottle of prosecco for you and your guests. You get to choose from over 30 different fabrics to find one you LOVE!!! I take your measurements and a week later you return to pick up your one-of-a-kind custom long or short skirt with a zipper and pockets.
Now living in Ventura, CA, Mo Sama is available at select markets in Ventura and Santa Barbara. Mo Sama will be re-launching the brand in the coming months; with lots of new and exciting additions to share with you. Stay tuned…
Peace & Love
